Article 4: Civil Work Bridge Construction in China

Step 1: Preparation and Installation Corrugated Pipes(Post Tension Ducts)
In China we use galvanized metal ducts and HDPE plastic ducts for prestressing work according to different work.Metal ducts can be manufactured on site with galvanized metal ducts making machine, but HDPE plastic ducts usually produced in factory. Because the manufacturing equipment of metal duct can be movable, and easy operation. But HDPE plastic ducts manufacturing equipment is stable with complicate production process.
The following is picture of red galvanized duct making machine is old generation machine, with 4 rollers only, manufacturing duct speed is not fast as our new generation duct.

Requirement for Galvanized Ducts for Prestressing Work
- Inner Duct Diameter: from 35mm to 135mm.
- Thickness for Galvanized Ducts: 0.28mm, 0.3mm, or 0.35mm, 0.4mm.
3. Surface for Ducts: Galvanized Duct or Non-galvanized Duct, in domestic market usually use both Galvanized Duct or Non-galvanized Duct. For exporting we usually use Galvanized Duct.
4. Corrugation Type: double corrugated(double seams lock).
5. Post tension duct is required have strong ring stiffness,proper wave height and the strong buckle of each round.
6. Round metal ducts are usually used in bridges, buildings in concrete girder, flat ducts usually used in surface of bridges.
7. If you need round duct making machine kindly please inform us the required inner duct diameter you will make. If you need galvanized ducts kindly please inform us the required inner diameter, thickness of ducts and order quantity.

Prepare and Installation of Prestressed Strand, Prestressed Strand have two types, one is Unbonded PC Strand for unbonded prestressing construction work, another is bonded prestressed strand for bonded construction work.
Features of Unbonded PC Strand
It has the advantage of waterproof, moisture resistant, corrosion resistant, impact resistant, good lubrication, less friction drag, anti-wear, high toughness without deformation in set temperature range etc. This product is applicable to cast-in-place concrete of long-span and wide buildings, prefabricated beam and other construction like bridge, dam, silo, pool, tower body, Ground Anchorage etc. It is featured with no grouting, easy operation, saving in material and good flexibility.
Unbonded pc strand is coated with corrosion-resistant lubricating grease and polyethylene sheathing(HDPE).Standard by ASTM A416, BS5896, prEN 10138, AS1311, GB/T 5224；or quivalent and other standards Tensile strenght

Unbonded pc strand apply：
Unbonded pc strand are mainly used for prestressed steel structure, a variety of rail and road bridges, factory plant, high-rise building, prestressed construction and a variety of building foundation columns and the transformation of reinforcement, the city's overpass, Shell safety of nuclear power stations, television tower, water towers, concrete silo, sewage treatment, anchoring the rock, water conservancy and hydropower project, the standard pre-stressed concrete structures, poles, water pipes, crane beam, the level of large plates, hollow Floor, and so on.
Unbonded PC strand Detailed Product Description:
- Construction: 1 x 7.
- Diameter: 7.94mm-17.80mm.
- Standards: ASTM A416, BS5896, JISG3536, ISO6934, EN10138, GB/T5224 or according to customers' requirements.
- Tensile Strength：1670Mpa, 1700Mpa, 1770Mpa, 1820Mpa and 1860Mpa etc.
- Inquiry please provide: Standard (year), Diameter, Mechanical property (especially tensile strength), coil weight, Packing dimension, Quantity.
Our unbonded pc strand production process has strict quality, so our product quality is guaranteed.

Export anti-rust packing with vapors corrosion inhibiting technology and 3 coatings. There are two wooden pallets on the bottom.
Unbonded PC strand apply：
- Unbonded PC strand are mainly used for prestressed steel structure, a variety of rail and road bridges, factory plant, high-rise building, prestressed construction and a variety of building foundation columns and the transformation of reinforcement, the city's overpass, Shell safety of nuclear power stations, television tower, water towers, concrete silo, sewage treatment, anchoring the rock, water conservancy and hydropower project, the standard pre-stressed concrete structures, poles, water pipes, crane beam, the level of large plates, hollow Floor, and so on.
- Unbonded PC strand is widely used for construction including Earth Anchor, rock anchor, PC bridge, retaining wall and dam, building slab, etc,Unbonded PC is mainly used in U-Turn anchors. In order to avoid environmental problems and public resentment, steel wire and strands can be removed after construction. U-Turn anchors also are used as permanent anchors.
- Earth Anchor is also named temporary construction anchor or soil anchor. It can prevent collapsing of surrounding soil before completion of buildings. Soil anchor will be removed after building completes.
- Rock anchor also named permanent anchor can as reinforcement of sloped surface, and it can prevent buoyancy of a building. The PC strand in rock anchor is permanently buried in the ground.
- Buoyancy Anchor Used to prevent buoyancy of a building during preparation of foundation.

Application
Our PC strand is mainly used for the reinforcement of prestressed concrete structures, such as large-span railway and road bridges, major bridges, silos, buildings, dams, floor slabs, foundations, large concrete vessels, atomic reactor buildings, stadiums, airport hangers, pre-cast segments, crane beams, anchorages and multi-storey industrial buildings etc.
Our PC strand is also used for the construction of highways, poles and water towers in civil construction, and energy source sea transportation, house buildings, water control projects, and rock and earth anchoring components to increase the tensile force.
